Which platforms are supported?
YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Dropbox, Google Drive, Facebook (public videos), Instagram (public videos), and any direct MP4/MP3/M4A URL.
Does it work on private or login-protected videos?
No. Only publicly accessible URLs are supported. For private content, download the file first and use the Video to Text uploader.
How long can the video be?
Up to 2 hours per URL on the free tier. Longer videos will be split automatically. Pro users can process up to 10 hours per month.
Is pasting a link slower than uploading?
Usually faster — we fetch at data center bandwidth (hundreds of Mbps), often outpacing a home upload.
Are YouTube videos legal to transcribe?
Transcribing publicly available content for personal research, commentary, or fair use is generally allowed. Check the platform terms for your specific use case. We do not redistribute the original video.
Can I get time-coded subtitles?
Yes. Both SRT and VTT exports are included, with word-level timestamps embedded.
